Challenge Review

A few months ago, I stumbled on the book Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. I downloaded it on Audible and blasted through that book faster than anything I have listened to on there. I started to follow here on social media and basically binge watched all of her motivational videos on YouTube. If you haven’t heard of Rachel Hollis, seriously, go look her up. Amazing content.
Through following her on social, I learned about her #Last90Days challenge and the premise of that is to spend the last 90 days of the year, basically going all out as intentionally as possible. We have a few guidelines to follow each day called the 5 To Thrive:
Now, I have not been perfect with this challenge. That’s not the point. Nobody is perfect and anybody that tells you otherwise, is lying. I have *really* struggled with the getting up an hour earlier part. The wildchild still mostly sleeps in our bed, and we have a kitten that thinks the hours of 2-4 am are a great time to try to play with my face. That’s not even taking into account the fatigue I battle some days due to my MS. However, the days that I did accomplish getting up an hour earlier, have been some of my most productive days. I got so much done around the house, homeschooling, and the days seemed to fly right on by.
The easiest parts of the 5 To Thrive were definitely the working out and the water intake. I already make it a point to move my body each day, that’s just part of being a health and wellness coach. Am I a perfect weight? No, cause again, I am not perfect and I am a work in progress. Plus, I love junk food a bit too much. I’m working on that. Since working out is part of my daily routine, drinking water is definitely a part of my day.
In the middle were giving up a food category and gratitude. I gave up energy drinks for this challenge and I have probably had 4 throughout the challenge so far. Which is a hell of a lot better than I was doing. I was having several a week and we all know what that garbage does to our body, but they taste *so* good. Gratitude was a challenge because I would forget to do it before I fell asleep at night, and it’s pretty repetitive. I’ve switched it to 5 things and I now write them in the morning as part of my Start Today morning journal practice.
I know we still have a couple more weeks before this challenge officially ends, but it’s about to be super crazy in our household with a birthday, the holidays, and Not So Little Dude here for winter break and let’s face it, I might forget.
I definitely plan on doing this challenge again next year and doing even better the next time around!

A Dream Realized
Exciting things are happening here over at The Wild Paduanos! We recently stepped out of that dreaded comfort zone and took some huge steps toward our dream. I wish I could say that we finally purchased our dream land, but we aren’t quite there yet. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
Sorry for Disappearing
I am so sorry for disappearing, again. Things have been quiet on the blog for awhile now, despite my intentions otherwise. Adding Wildbaby into the mix has been a lot harder than I had imagined. She is such a velcro baby that it is hard to get much accomplished besides nursing and if I am lucky, a thirty minute workout.
Spike Down: Harvesting My First Deer
My second season started after my wife. She was able to go down before me with her dad. While she was there on her last night she tagged out. So not only did she tag out before me she also got a deer before me. She got a nice doe too. My first year I didn’t get to tag out despite seeing deer and releasing some arrows.
